We are currently looking for a Design Engineer 2 for a permanent position within our client base.  This position is permanent and is based in Freeport, PA.

Summary:

Under minimal supervision, works on all activities regarding the design, detail, construction, and modification of dies utilizing the CAD system by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Reviews order requirements and customer specific requirements.
  • Confers with project team members to ensure that project objectives are addressed in the work plan.
  • Work from customer part prints to conceptualize, design and detail tool designs.
  • Create strip layouts and lead the design and detail efforts of progressive dies.
  • Provide technical support throughout the manufacturing and debug cycle of dies.
  • Examine to make certain that the drawings are dimensional and logistically correct.
  • Make customer contacts to discuss any specifications that may be necessary to effectively design the die.
  • Make certain that customer specifications are documented into the die design.
  • Attend die discussion for each assigned die design.
  • Attend and participate in die review meetings/technical discussions on assigned die designs.
  • Strives to exceed customer expectations as to performance, solution, and delivery commitment.
  • Actively participates as a design resource for multiple projects.
  • Actively participates and contributes ideas pertaining to the development of dies.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to safety and security procedures.

Level III Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Technician

Summary:

  •  Calibrate, standardize, set-up and utilize nondestructive testing equipment
  • Conduct tests to ensure and detect discontinuities (indications) using applicable NDT methods of inspection
  • Follow &/or establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to PPE and safety regulations
  • Apply inspection criteria in accordance with applicable customer specifications or standards and evaluate results

  • Usability testing throughout the product development process, from formative testing of early prototypes through usability validation of final designs

  • Ensure the company’s usability engineering processes and methodologies meet and surpass the latest expectations of regulatory agencies.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive patient-focused product innovation by leading the development of human factors engineering processes within the organization, including the management of standard operating procedures.
  • Works closely with a cross-functional development team throughout a product development effort to ensure that user needs, usability requirements, and use errors are identified and addressed in the design process.
  • Lead analytic human factors activities (e.g., use FMEA, task analysis, heuristic evaluation) for the purposes of “design input,” risk assessment and mitigation, and protocol development
  • Lead the development and execution of formative and summative evaluations at various stages of product development from early prototypes through formal FDA-mandated validation

Design Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Design Coordinator for a permanent position within our client base.  This position is permanent and is based in Pittsburgh, PA.  This is a very important and high visibility position.

 POSITION BACKGROUND:

This position is at their North American headquarters.  As part of their goal to be North America’s most highly regarded provider of thermal and strip processing technology our client is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Design Coordinaor.  Project work includes all aspects relating to industrial furnaces to steel, aluminum and strip processing manufacturers.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in design, drafting and management of technical drawings for similar equipment.
  • Must be proficient with CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Must have significant experience coordinating project related drawings between vendors and customers.
  • Experience transitioning drafting systems over to 3D a plus.
  • BS degree in Engineering & Technology a plus.
  • Experience with industrial furnaces in the steel and aluminum industries is preferred.
  • Experience working with engineers on piping, electrical, refractory and mechanical designs.
  • Prior drawing room management experiences a plus.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office products.
