We are currently looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer for a permanent position within our client base. This position is permanent and is based in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a very important and high visibility position.
Our client is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Mechanical Project Engineer. Typical projects include all aspects relating to industrial furnaces to steel, aluminum and strip processing manufacturers. Typical project scope includes combusiton/controls upgrades, furnace rebuilds, field service, and complete equipment design/supply/install/commissioning.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- BS degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical or combustion).
- EIT or PE certification a plus.
- Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in design, project engineering and start-up of similar equipment.
- Experience with industrial furnaces in the steel and aluminum industries is preferred.
- Experience with combustion, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic systems, and mechanical design desired.
- Experience designing with CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Problem solving skills with the ability to become hands on involved when needed.
- Strong communication, organizing, planning, and inter-personal skills.
- Willing and able to travel for erection and commissioning both domestically and internationally.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft office products.
Design Engineer 2

We are currently looking for a Design Engineer 2 for a permanent position within our client base. This position is permanent and is based in Freeport, PA.
Summary:
Under minimal supervision, works on all activities regarding the design, detail, construction, and modification of dies utilizing the CAD system by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Reviews order requirements and customer specific requirements.
- Confers with project team members to ensure that project objectives are addressed in the work plan.
- Work from customer part prints to conceptualize, design and detail tool designs.
- Create strip layouts and lead the design and detail efforts of progressive dies.
- Provide technical support throughout the manufacturing and debug cycle of dies.
- Examine to make certain that the drawings are dimensional and logistically correct.
- Make customer contacts to discuss any specifications that may be necessary to effectively design the die.
- Make certain that customer specifications are documented into the die design.
- Attend die discussion for each assigned die design.
- Attend and participate in die review meetings/technical discussions on assigned die designs.
- Strives to exceed customer expectations as to performance, solution, and delivery commitment.
- Actively participates as a design resource for multiple projects.
- Actively participates and contributes ideas pertaining to the development of dies.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to safety and security procedures.
- Adhere to company policies and state and federal laws and regulations relating to employment, including promoting a workplace free of discrimination and harassment.
- Other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Creation and maintenance of production BOM.
- Ability to learn to do machine design and die design.
- Consultation with internal design experts.
- Development of corrective actions on deviations.
- Daily shop follow of components and assemblies.
- Serves as both designer of product as well as project manager.
- Ensures that scheduled milestones relating to projects are achieved.
- Resolution of design issues.
- Communication of plans for issue resolution to eng. team and mfg. personnel.
- Interface with customer and internal technical contacts.
- Development of production/design drawings and revisions and features.
- Development and interpretation of technical specifications.
- Develop cost estimates, scopes of work and engineering schedules for quotation.
- Prepare and deliver design reviews.
- Create and develop reports as customer deliverables.
