Electronics Technician 2

Balionis Group, Inc. is well known for providing engineers and technology people to a variety of high technology firms.  We provide direct placement as well as contract engineers.

We are currently looking for an Electronics Technician 2 for a permanent position within our client base.  This position is permanent and is based in Sarver, PA (north of Pittsburgh).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Build cable assemblies from inventoried components using supplied documentation.
  • Wire industrial control panels and sub-assemblies using inventoried components and supplied documentation.
  • Prepare enclosures and panels by performing drilling and tapping operations.
  • Build fixtures, includes drilling fixtures and nail boards, to assist in the manufacturing of assemblies.
  • Run supplies (electric, air, etc.) for equipment installation as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to safety and security procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies and state and federal laws and regulations relating to employment, including promoting a workplace free of discrimination and harassment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Basic welding and fabrication
  • Provide project kiting.
  • Build cable assemblies from inventoried components and supplied documentation.
  • Wire industrial control panels and sub-assemblies using inventoried components and supplied documentation.
  • Repair P.C. Circuit Boards by stuffing and soldering of components and inspect for proper operation.
  • Integrate sub-assemblies into a completed system assembly for customer delivery.
  • Install or replace sensors on dies as required and interface to a controller as needed.
  • Test cable assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Maintain inventory of electronic supplies.
  • Program PLC for basic operation.
  • Program and configure finished products in preparation for manufacturing production.
  • Offer suggestions to improve the operations of the department / plant.
  • Assist with problems and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a standing, sitting, or bent position for 10 hours/day and must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds with control.  The employee must be able to raise arms above shoulders and maintain dexterity for extended periods of time and also use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and be able to stoop or kneel for excessive periods of time.  The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.  The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment. The employee must be able to travel between departments and divisions, and domestic and international travel is occasionally required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a manufacturing environment for electronic and industrial controls which will include equipment under testing or repairing stages generating moderate noise and having moving mechanical parts.

QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • Must have the ability and interpersonal skills to successfully work as a team member to obtain desired results.
  • Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents such as operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to understand and perform to job-related quality standards, methods, usage of inspection devices and reporting as required.
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical layout drawings and schematics.
  • Must possess the knowledge of the operation of the equipment.
  • Must be able to locate, diagnose and correct problems in equipment and systems utilizing test equipment and/or prior work experience.
  • Must be able to work 50 hours per week, however, schedule may be adjusted according to business and operational needs.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Must be able to respond to and accommodate “on call” status.
  • Must be able to organize work and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to crimp, solder and wire and know how to use Electronic Products.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Windows Applications.
  • Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication.
  • Must be able to offer forward thinking ideas and innovative concepts.
  • Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
  • Must be able to program and troubleshoot PLC.
  • Must be able to hook utilities to equipment.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree in Electronic Technologies or related field preferred.
  • Mechanical background preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years experience required.
